This unit involves the skills and knowledge required to operate, inspect and monitor coal delivery systems to power generating unit storage bunkers.
A power generating facilitythat burnsfossil fuelsis reliant on fuel supply delivery systems to maintain power generation capability. A coal delivery system will consist of plant and/or equipment that requires regular monitoring to ensure smooth operations are maintained.
Competency in this unit requires the ability to plan work, operate coal delivery system plant,analyse coal delivery system plant faults, monitor and inspect coal delivery system plant and completion of all documentation. Individuals will, in general, work under supervision, in a power generation facility as an operator.
Power generation plant operators are typically trained and authorised to isolate, prepare plant and issue permits to work.
